iPad drawing: Kędzierzyn-Koźle
'A Day In The Life'
Immersing myself amongst Polish residential housing blocks in the town of Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Poland. (10/10/16) Reanimated with drawings and videos to put life back into the physical environment along with a relative greyness, taken since the fall of communism.
iPad drawing: Budapest | Villamos Vonat
Acknowledging one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions of Chinese painting. This piece aims to push the boundaries of drawing - incorporating hand scrolls with mounted digital iPad drawings. A continuous roll of paper that depicts the artistic unrolling in an environment, drifting through a journey in space and time in Communist-era architectural brutality subway lines of Budapest.
iPad drawing: Nowa Huta | Krakow
The artist has always eagerly applied new drawing techniques and technologies/ videos to show an alternative perspective to walking through the environment. This way of presentation made for a indispensable source of inspiration while working and living in Krakow - exploring Nowa Huta Socialist Realism architecture - easternmost district of Krakow (08/05/16).
Interrail 2015 - Nederland to Deutschland
My intention was to record new work by uniquely showing an artist in their environment, getting close to the subject matter while offering a fresh look at the world. Making derives, from 14 days spent Interrailing across Europe with only a GoPro, iPad and a train pass in my possession. I documented observations and interactions along the way in response to contemporary psycho-geography.
WALKING IN THE CITY
What I’m exploring is the notion of how our perception of the city (as an individual and collectively) can be controlled by others – that is to say – how others walk the city. As I walk through certain streets I control how the city is revealed to me, through showing you this I control how you perceive the city in this instance.
SPRING HEELED JACK TRAILER PERFORMANCE
Inspired by and working with local people and their stories, Spring Heeled Jack in Everton is a procession performance moving through the streets of Everton and into its glorious park for a rousing finale.
THE FUTURIST CINEMA, LIVERPOOL
I have chosen to highlight the important campaign of preserving a future for the old Futurist cinema building on Lime Street. Where dreams were made and there are plenty of people who have memories of the place. Exploring the affect the changing nature of the built environment in Liverpool city has on the collective imagination.
DEATH AND LIFE OF THE URBAN BLOCK
I have been exploring the affect the changing nature of the built environment has on our collective imagination. The process of creation is kinetic and mobile, we can learn from the past to inform the future. I have been contemplating the future of society, sustainability, quality of urban life and transport, which is addressed in my video entitled iPad Drawing: Death and Life of the Urban Block.
This video piece acts as a sequel to the video entitled: 'A Vision of Urban Utopia 2012' it also demonstrates successful creative collaboration with Tommy Fanton: Composer, Sound Engineer, Music Producer.
A VISION OF URBAN UTOPIA
The act of looking during everyday passage through a Metropolis city is an art form. Architecture presents a romantic vision for a humanistic city that is ever changing due to technical enhancements, it's just a matter of how we keep up with these changes.
Opening 00:10:00 of the 01:15:05 video animation entitled iPad Drawing: Virtual dérive
Displaying works exploring the advantage of using technology in art as a medium for drawing from CCTV and Google Street View digital recordings.
